Hola Calaguas!

It's summer time, the hot temperature once again hits our country. So what's your plan for your summer vacation? For those who wants to spend time to relax in somewhere far away from the busy and stressful ambiance of the city beach is one of the options to unwind. Last year i wast invited by Kuya Dong Ho  to visit Calaguas Island, Brgy. Mangkawayan, Vinzons, Camarines Norte.

I've heard a lot of stories on how beautiful this island. So i take the opportunity to join the group to explore what's in this island and to understand why a lot of people who wants to visit it.

From my hometown in Paracale, i went  to meet the other members of the group in the small pier in Vinzons. A little bit nervous because that i might don't enjoy the trip because among the 26 people in the group, only 1 of them is the person i knew, Dong Ho. (Yeah, kev loves to travel even-though i don't know who am i traveling with  :p)

Waiting for banka :)

Refreshments :)

The expected 2 hours banka ride from the pier extends up to 3 hours because of the lowtide. We are stranded for a while and then decided to push the banka that we are riding on the shallow part of the river.

Stranded.

After making it through the shallow river, the waves welcomes our bankas in the open sea. I though i will vomit while on the banka because my father told me earlier that I need to be prepared for the seasickness. Thanks to bonamine that i bought along the way, i enjoy riding on the waves without worrying.

Samong Island
From a distance, I can see a long stretch of white sand beach, and that's where the beach got it's name "Mahabang Buhangin".

The clear blue water, and the white powdery sand welcomes us as we arrived on the beach. The views, ambiance, everything were perfect for those who wants to relax and scape from the busy city living. Tents were scattered everywhere, since this are the only accommodation that are available, it is a must to bring for those who will stay on the island.

 Tent City
Im out of words to describe the beauty of this island(sorry). But i hope my photos can express what i want to say :)

Aside from the sand and water, the sunset in this island were so fascinating, aside from the Sunset in Manila Bay, the sunset from this island is one of a kind. And this is the one of the many reasons that makes this island experience so worth it.

After the sun sets, its the moon and the stars turns to sparkle.

Getting to know each other stage w/ team eskapo.
The question of the night: "Anabel Rama o Heart Evangelista"
I woke up early on the following day and i was invited for an unplanned island hoping with some of the member/new friends from our group. No toothbrush, no breakfast, I just grabbed my camera and said, "lets go".

After a few hours of sidetrips and picture taking on the island it's time for us to leave together with new friends, memories and experience. Once again I leave home, alone but I came back with new treasures. Hope to see this Island once again.

  4. Oh. If it wasn't because of the presence of bancas on the photos, I would be having a hard time to believe that this is in the Philippines. The great blue clear waters are rare this days in our country. Hope go visit this place one day.
