When Aling Lucing Broke my heart.

Note: First of all, this blog is about my experience in dining at Aling Lucing's. I will write this for the awareness of the future diner and also for the management of the said establishment. I am not here to criticize. I'm just telling a story.

"Nasubukan mo na ba ang sisig nang Pampanga?- Rico J. Puno"

Sisig: Ang sisig ay isang kilalang ulam sa Pilipinas. Gawa ito sa mga bahaging-ulo ng baboy at ang mga laman nito, at maaaring palasahan ng kalamansi at/o sili. Madalas itong kinakain bilang pulutan kasabay ng beer at karaniwang hindi sinasabayan ng kanin. http://tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisig

Sisig is one of my favorite food. Crispy or sizzling for me they are all the same. They said that the best sisig can be found in Pampanga and Aling Lucing's Sisig in Valdez St Agapito Del Rosario Angeles City claimed that they are the 'Sisig Queen"

I visited Pampanga for the first time last February 11 with some of my new friends from Pinoy Travel Bloggers for the HotAir Balloon Fiesta in Clark. After taking some photos and sightseeing on the event we've decided to eat our lunch at Aling Lucing's to experience and taste their famous sisig.

We've arrived at  around 12:30 pm, no surprise that the place had a lot of customers in line to dine. After a while we've got our seat and order at the counter.

Personally, i expect that their service to their guest/customers is different from the other karinderya we know, i expect that they standout from the others on their class. But i was wrong, my expectations were opposite on what happened on that day.

We've ordered 1 Sisig(175), 5 rice and a softdrink. Then after a couple of minutes waiting we followed-up our orders and they said "Nagsasaing pa lang po, yung Sisig ginagawa pa lang". What a joke, a lot of customers are waiting, but the there are no rice and sisig to serve?

We couldn't do anything but to wait. Some of the guest were leaving but because we really want to taste their sisig, we stayed. After around 45 minutes of waiting, at last, the servers are starting to serve the sisig. Excited, of course. But, they prioritize first to serve their locals which arrived there a few minutes ago, favoritism? Then we asked the server "kuya nauna pa kami sa kanila, bakit sila yung inuna mo?" he replied "sige, yung susunod sa inyo na". So, we expected that the next batch of sisig that they will serve will be placed on our table, but the server just passed by on us and go to the long table and make "pa-impress" to the ladies.

When the food was served on our table, we've just took some photos and eat. While eating, its funny that non of us are talking, maybe were hungry so much and we need to filled our mad stomachs.

In terms of taste, honestly, i really didn't taste something special in the sisig they served, thats all i can say. But in terms of the preparation, simplicity is their edge, just chopped pork with seasonings, chopped onions, margarine and served in sizzling plate.

But to be fair, if I'll be given a chance to visit and dine once again at Aling Lucing's i will dine there again. But i hope that my experience on my 1st time will never be the same on the 2nd.

  10. I am not a sisig fan.

It's such a shame that your first visit hasn't been that good. The service isn't great and the food just tastes so-so.

Hopefully next time you drop by again, you'll have a better experience :)

  20. The sisig looks delish, but I don't think I can wait for 45 minutes.. :( Hopefully your next trip to Aling Lucing will be better.

  21. 45 mins? Unless super duper masarap yan, I'd probably be willing to wait. I have no patience kasi for poor customer service. Kahit karinderya, kung masarap ang food, ok sana. But if nothing special lang naman...
