Calle Crisologo: A piece of past in our modern time.

Location: Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Our Journey Back in Time tour will never be a Jojrney Back in Time if  we miss to visit the city of Vigan in Ilocos Sur. This UNESCO Heritage  Site is known to be the Best preserved example of Spanish colonial  town in Asia.

We start to take a walk in Plaza Salcedo. Named after the Spanish  explorer Juan de Salcedo. Located in this elevated plaza is the oldest  monument in the north, the Salcedo monument.

(St. Paul Cathedral)

To reach Calle Crisologo, we decided to ride a calesa in front of St  Paul Cathedral. And also because the calesa is the only vehicle  allowed to enter in that street.

It catches my attention when I saw a lot of modern establishments to  build their structures in Vigan with Spanish inspired architecture.

At last, Calle Crisologo. This cobblestone street is the main tourist  attraction of Vigan. You can see a lot of old buildings on each side  of the street and some of them serves as a shop that sells antique,  furniture, souvenirs and pasalubong.

(The Beatols)

Walking to this street makes me wonder how simple but elegant the way  of Filipino lives during 18th century. After the sun sets the street lights of Calle Crisologo gives glow on this old street.
